Strategic Research Centres
A strategic research centre is characterised by the fact that several independent, preferably co-located research groups at a university or a research institute collaborate to solve an important research problem under the strong, uniting leadership of a centre director.
The director is assisted by a steering committee and a scientific advisory committee.
A very important evaluation criterion in the application process, is the proposed center's value compared to the corresponding individual projects.
Financing duration: 5-6 years including a mid-term evaluation. SEK 7- 10 million per year.
